My Story: Healing Through Faith and Resilience

I’m Latonya Howell, and if you’re here, I’m guessing you’ve faced your own struggles—maybe trauma, loss, or simply feeling lost in the chaos of life. I know what that’s like. My journey is not one of easy victories, but of finding strength in the middle of heartache, and faith in the midst of uncertainty.

I grew up with challenges I didn’t fully understand until later in life. My childhood wasn’t easy—growing up in foster care, I had to navigate difficult relationships and experiences that left me feeling unseen and unworthy. For years, I carried the weight of those wounds, believing they somehow defined who I was. It was only through time, self-work, and faith that I started to see my worth beyond the pain.

In 2011, I lost my daughter to SIDS when she was only five months old. That loss shattered me in ways I still can’t fully put into words. I felt angry, lost, and completely broken. Nothing prepares you for that kind of grief, and it can feel like the world will never be the same again. And, in many ways, it wasn’t. But in the depths of that pain, I turned to my faith, clinging to the belief that God had not abandoned me, even when it felt like He had.

It wasn’t an instant healing—there were moments where I didn’t know if I could keep going. But slowly, through prayer, deep reflection, and the support of those who loved me, I began to heal. Not in the sense that the pain disappeared, but I learned how to carry it with grace, how to honor my daughter’s memory while finding new purpose. My faith became my anchor in that storm, reminding me that healing, while not linear, is always possible.

This is why I became a certified trauma-informed coach. I’ve walked the road of pain, and I know how isolating it can feel. I also know that there is hope, and there is healing on the other side of trauma. I wanted to create a space for women who feel stuck, hurt, and overwhelmed—a space where they can heal, rediscover their identity, and feel empowered again.

Why Trauma-Informed Coaching?

Through my own journey, I realized that healing from trauma isn’t just about moving forward—it’s about understanding how those experiences have shaped us and finding ways to rebuild our lives with intention. I became a certified trauma-informed life coach because I believe that in order to truly heal, we need to acknowledge the ways trauma lives in our bodies, minds, and spirits. And it’s faith-based because, for me, God’s grace is what gives me the strength to continue growing, healing, and helping others.

I’ve worked with women from all walks of life who, like me, have faced incredible challenges—women who’ve experienced trauma, self-doubt, abusive relationships, and loss. And I’ve seen these same women rise, reclaim their power, and find joy again. It’s possible for you too. Healing is messy, but it’s also beautiful. It requires courage and faith, and I am here to walk alongside you on that journey.

What Drives Me

At the core of everything I do is the belief that every woman has the strength within her to heal. My mission is to help you see that strength, even when it feels impossible. I am not just a coach—I am someone who has been where you are, and I’ve come out the other side stronger, more grounded, and more connected to my purpose. I want to help you do the same.

If you’ve been waiting for permission to heal, to step into your power, and to embrace the life God intended for you, I’m here to tell you: the time is now. You don’t have to walk this road alone.
